PalEat is the app people across Palestine use to order from restaurants, supermarkets, cafés, butchers, pharmacies, florists and shops, pay by card or Apple Pay, and watch the rider come to the door on a live map. It sends parcels with Box, gives money back with PalEat Cash, and speaks Arabic and English. Portous built it, runs it, and ships a new version every couple of weeks.

Ten kinds of shop in one app
Restaurants, PalEat Mart, coffee and sweets, fresh market, health and beauty, flowers and gifts, shops, Box, electronics and pet shop. One search, one cart, one rider.
Live tracking to the door
Watch the order move from the kitchen to your street on a map. On iPhone it also lives on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with no need to open the app.
Updates as they happen
A notification for every step: accepted, being prepared, on its way, at the door. The rider can call you from inside the app.
Pay your way
Card, Apple Pay, a saved card, or cash at the door. Cards are saved securely for next time and never typed twice.
PalEat Cash
A percentage of every order comes back as PalEat Cash. Levels from Copper to Gold raise the rate, pickup pays more than delivery, and you spend it with a slider at checkout.
Box: send a parcel
Pick a collection address and a delivery address, add a note for the rider, and a parcel up to 7 kg (40 by 60 by 40 cm) goes across town the same way an order does.

Order for right now or schedule a time. Choose delivery to the door or pickup from the shop, and see the cash back for each before you choose.

Browse first, sign in later
Open the app, build a cart, then sign in with your phone number. The cart is still there. Guests can browse everything.
Reviews, favourites and help
Rate every order, keep favourite places, and reach support in one tap on WhatsApp from inside the app.
Arabic and English
Switch languages inside the app. Every screen, receipt and notification is written for both, with a full right-to-left layout.
Made for real phones
Fast on older phones, careful with data, and it keeps working when the connection drops for a moment.
The challenge
A delivery app lives or dies on the boring parts. The order must never get lost, the price must be right for the distance, a rider must be found in seconds, the kitchen must hear the alarm, and all of it has to work in Arabic and English on old phones and new ones. Then there is the part most apps skip: making people come back.
What we did
We built native apps for iPhone and Android on a backend of our own, and we run all of it. In 2026 we redesigned the whole app in a hybrid style: a clean, modern base with hand-drawn characters and accents in the PalEat violet, yellow and mint, in Arabic and English. Delivery is priced on real road distance. Payment happens in the app with a card, Apple Pay or a saved card. Every change in an order's status reaches the phone at once, including on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so nobody has to open the app to know where their food is.
The outcome
PalEat is live in the App Store and on Google Play and serves customers across Palestine every day. More than 90,000 registered users across 26 delivery areas and 843 mapped landmarks, with more than 1,000 vendors and 80,000 products in the catalogue.
